Mahamas YES Initiative Will Be A Big NO Initiative Frm NPP Youth Organiser

A former National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Emmanuel Attafuah-Danso has said President John Dramani Mahamas inconsistent approach of handling issues will make the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) initiative a fiasco. According to him, the youth of the country are very optimistic that the YES initiative will be another fraud in the making just as GYEEDA after noting that Mahamas YES always means NO. Ghanaian Youth across the country have viewed President Mahamas led NDC administrations Youth Enterprise Support Fund [YES] with a pinch of salt. To them anytime Mahama says YES, the answer is a big NO. This Mahamas YES Fund is perceived in the minds and heart of many Ghanaian Youth as another fraudulent fund created to cover up the corrupt deals at GYEEDA, he said. The YES initiative, which is in fulfillment of President Mahamas 2012 campaign promises, was launched last week when Ghana joined the world to mark the International Youth Day. It is a flagship programme to assist young Ghanaians with creative and innovative business ideas and plans to achieve their full potential. YES, fueled with GhC10million will also be operating under the office of the President. The announcement of the YES fund joins Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency as another government run youth employment program. In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Emmanuel Attefuah-Danso opined that the initiative is an avenue to again stash loot and milk the sick cow for people to dissipate the public funds. The question of the day which remains conspicuously unanswered is, what has happened to the existing funds, bodies, agencies, organs, departments and institutions created to address the needs, welfare and challenges of the growing youth population of Ghana? Some Youth question the motive behind this YES fund and concluded that this is part of the deceptive strategies to influence the Youth of Ghana, he said. The former NPP youth leader is of a view that the Youth of Ghana are prepared to work at the prevailing wage rate but unable to get jobs. It is frightening the rate of youth unemployment situation in Ghana. President Mahama appears not to have solution to it. He told Peacefmonline.com that, President John Dramani Mahama has undoubtedly been a failure and a disappointment to the youth of Ghana and a plaque on our youthful aspirations, enterprise and exuberance.
