Stay Away From Polling Centers - Kwabena Agyepong

The General Secretary (GS) of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyepong, has asked members of the party to �stay away� from polling centers during Sunday�s super delegates� election. The national executive body of the main opposition party has set August 31 for a special congress to cut down the number of presidential candidates from seven to five. Among the people seeking to lead the party are: two-time presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, former trade minister Alan Kyerematen, former Attorney General Joe Ghartey, former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng, MP for Mampong constituency Francis Addai-Nimoh and Kofi Osei Ameyaw, MP for Asuogyaman constituency. Speaking to Accra-based Okay FM, Tuesday, Kwabena Agyepong said �we have assigned the Steering Committee members to the various regions to vote over there and also to monitor proceedings from the regional capitals. We will plead with those whose names are not on the list we have given out to stay away from the venue.� �Let us ensure that the party is supreme at all times. Let the party be our priority� we have met with the Electoral Commission and arrangement has been made regarding our Special Election. EC has finished and distributed the Statement of Poll to the various regional capitals�After the ballot, the votes will be declared. We have specifically left the entire process in the hands of presiding officers and we believe they will do a good job� he asserted.
