Frank Rockson, a 40-year-old Military officer at Takoradi Naval Command died instantly when the Hyundai Santafe with registration number GN4436-10 he was driving in collided head-on with a Renault car with registration number GM6703-13 at Akotsi, on the Accra-Coast Highway. The occupant of the Renault salon car, who has been identified as Francis Kweku Baidoo, a 51-year-old businessman, also died while being rushed to the hospital. According to an eyewitness, the driver of the Hyundai over took a vehicle ahead of him but lost control in the process and run into the Accra bound Renault, mangling the two cars in the process. He hinted that it took more than an hour for the fire service personnel and the Awutu Breku Police to remove the body of the military officer from his car since the car was totally mangled. The two have, however, been deposited at the Winneba Government Hospital morgue.
