Popular indigenous restaurant, Marwako Fast Food, located at Maamobi, along the Nima-Kanda Street, which was irrationally vandalized by some irate youth of the area a couple of weeks ago, has been re-opened for business. The swift bouncing back of the fashionable food joint, was made possible through the generous donation of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers and Planners (E&P), who rushed to support the company from near collapse, following the vandalism. Manager of Marwako Restaurant, Mr. Richmond Kponor, who was grateful for the restart of the place, acknowledged that through benevolent contribution by some personalities in the society, especially Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, the company has been able to bounce back into full operation. The re-opening ceremony, which was made last week was attended by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu and some dignitaries, as well as well-wishers. Mr. Kponor, explained that management has decided to quickly renovate the place for business, because the closure of the restaurant is denying the youth jobs. Meanwhile, the owner of the Restaurant, Alhaji Marwan Sharban, described what happened as very �devastating�, but he remained optimistic about smooth and prosperous return. According to him, the July 5 attack on his restaurant showed the huge sympathizer-support he had, bringing him good fortune and putting them back in business in a record time afterwards. Narrating the incident to The Herald, Mr. Kponor said, without any provocation the restaurant was attacked by unidentified thugs, destroying nearly everything to the amazement of everybody. Managing Editor of the Al Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature, whose vehicles were also destroyed during the attack, even though expressed disappointment at the action of the youth, he was, however, grateful that help had come to them. He advised that, the youth of the community should desist from taking the law into their own hands, whenever they are aggrieved. On behalf of the Maamobi-Nima Chiefs, Alhaji Moro Baba Issah, appealed to the youth to be mindful of the actions they take when aggrieved, but rather think of the greater good of the community first. Mr. Kponor, thanked the donors, as well as residents of the Maamobi-Nima community for their support, during the trying time.
