Nana Addo Won 2012 Presidential Election Oboshie Insists

Two years into the administration of President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Oboshie Sai Coffie insists Akufo-Addo won the 2012 presidential election. President Mahama, on the ticket of the NDC drew 5,574,761 votes, representing 50.70 percent of the total votes cast, while Nana Akufo-Addo, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) polled 5, 248, 89, representing 47.74 percent after the December 7 elections. Although the Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Djan, declared John Dramani Mahama the winner, the NPP challenged the results at the Supreme Court. After an eight-month-long hearing, the Supreme Court finally declared President Mahama as legitimately elected but made some recommendations for electoral reforms. However a former Deputy Chief of Staff and a former Minister in-charge of Tourism, Oboshie Sai Coffie, speaking on Citi Fms Point Blank show on Monday said she believes Nana Akufo-Addo won the 2012 election on fair grounds considering the recommendations by the Supreme Court. I believe when you look at the numbers from the last election, Akufo addos number of alleged lose was so small, it was so close, and if you look at the Supreme Courts recommendation and taking into account what really happened in that election. He [Nana Akufo-Addo] won that election, she stated. On violence in the NPP, Oboshie Sai Coffie called for calm and urged the party to eschew any form of violence that could bring the party into disrepute. She however predicted a landslide victory for Nana Akufo-Addo in the upcoming October 18 election adding that they [NPP] will certainly win the 2016 presidential race. The probability that we are going to win is extremely high. Im very confident that going in this time we are going in for a victory, 2016. Im confident we are going to come out in the October18 Congress with a winner, the flagbearer Nana Addo. I also believe that everybody who has been an aspirant will come on board with their supporters and that we are going to have a wonderful two years campaigning to take the Jubilee House from the NDC government, she affirmed.
