Baffuor Gyan, Accomplice Granted Bail

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has granted ex-Black Stars player, Baffuor Gyan bail after he was arrested and placed in custody on Saturday for leading an assault on Daniel Kenu, Regional Editor of the Daily Graphic in Kumasi. Also granted police enquiry bail is a suspected accomplice in the case in which some macho-men assaulted Kenu and gave him severe beating on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium where he had gone to pick up his accreditation to cover the 2015 AFCON qualifier against the Cranes of Uganda. The two, along with others police say they are looking for, are being investigated for the offence of assault and would be put before court after investigations. Kenu had been the object of a couple of attempted physical attacks since Wednesday when he asked Black Starts skipper Asamoah Gyan if he would seize the opportunity of a press conference to tell of what he knew of the suspected drowning of his close pal and showbiz partner, Castro De Destroyer. Asamoah Gyan, who was prevented from answering the question by the president of the Ghana Football Association, himself had to be restrained from physically attacking Kenu during the press conference. Castro, whose real name is Theophilus Tagoe and born in 1982, along with his friend Ms Janet Bandu was said to have gone for a cruise on a jet ski on the Volta River at Ada on July 5 but has since not been seen after a suspected accident. The jet ski was later found floating on the river. They had visited the resort in the company of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and friends.
