NPP Urges Ghanaians To Support The Black Stars

Since Ghana's maiden World Cup appearance in Germany 2006 where we earned the respect of the football world, the excitement of our citizens for the Black Stars has known no bounds. Our historic exploits in South Africa in 2010 cemented our status as a global force. However, the debacle of Brazil 2014 has set in motion a chain of events that threaten the very foundations of our game. Our affection for the Black Stars has always been unconditional and that is why reports of jeering by fans in Kumasi of all places is a very unfortunate development. In spite of the fact that the embarrassment we suffered during Brazil 2014 is still fresh in our minds we have got to move on. The national football team playing has always been a strong unifying force in Ghana and so we are therefore urging all Ghanaians to forget this bad experience and fully rally behind the Black Stars as we have always done. As the Black Stars take on Togo on Wednesday in the ongoing Cup of Nations qualifiers, we wish them the best of luck and we are confident they will get back to winning ways and make Ghanaians proud again. ------Signed----- Kwabena Agyei Agyepong General Secretary, NPP
