Ga West Residents Educated On Cholera Prevention

The first phase of a cholera prevention campaign has ended in the Ga West Municipality with a call on residents to keep their environment clean. It was organised by the National Commission for Civic Education with the support of health providers. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Pokuase, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region, Ms Rotse Haruna, a health campaigner, who led in the education programme, said it was aimed at helping to prevent the spread of cholera and other communicable diseases in the area. She said the health sensitisation was carried to traders, seamstresses, tailors, drivers, workers and organisations on the dangers of filth. She said litter bins would soon be distributed to households to help in refuse collection and to avoid filth in the municipality.
