Chief Leads Champagne Popping Celebration Over Dismissal Of Agona East DCE

Christmas is three months away, but communities in the Agona East areas, have started their celebrations. Led by their Chief, Nana Ako from Agona Obuyanbu, they have started slaughtering domestic animals and toasting their glasses in a champagne popping mood just to mark the dismissal of their former hard hearted District Chief Executive, Martin Luther Obeng. The latter was axed by government on Monday; for performing badly in office. This revelation was made by the Local Government Minister, Julius Debrah. This same observation was made by the chief for the area when he spoke on Peace FMs midday news to justify their merry making mood after the news broke. According to Nana Ako, Martin Luther Obeng became bigoted during his reign as DCE for the area. Development in the entire areas which falls under the Agona East district also ceased and anytime they complained, Nana Ako reveals Martin Luther Obeng cared less. His attitude made us look like liars before our own people. This is because anytime the people came to us (the chief) to inquire when our roads would be completed, we told them it would be soon. But in actual fact, we had no idea when it was going to be done. The DCE ceased communicating with us, we didnt exchange any ideas with him and he didnt tell us anything. As a prominent chief in the area, I didnt even have his phone number to contact him and share ideas with him, Nana Ako lamented. The joyful chief further revealed that people in his area have started making merry and he has no trouble with that. He however served a note of warning to the yet to named DCE who would be filling the void. He stated that if the incoming DCE repeats the same mistakes Martin Luther Obeng committed, the community will ensure the president shows him the exit just like he has done to Obeng.
