Kwesi Appiah: Ghana Must Forget World Cup Debacle

The Black Stars coach is begging fans to rally behind the team in this dire period to make it to the 2015 Nations Cup. The coach of Ghana Kwesi Appiah is appealing to disgruntled Ghanaian fans to bury the hatchet and be behind the Black Stars in the race for Morocco 2015. The senior national team of Ghana is under fire in the West African country following their abysmal performance at the 2014 World Cup. Fans are indignant and the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was partially filled when the team faced off with Uganda over the weekend in the 2015 Afcon qualifiers. Appiah, who has also come under inconsiderate pressure to resign, is on his knees rallying football loving Ghanaians not to shun the passion of the nation. I urge all Ghanaians to let us try and put the World Cup issues behind us and put our energies to support the national team, the former Ghana international told Accra-based Citi FM. Its about Ghana. We should be looking at Ghana and make Ghana proud, he stressed. Ghana will take on Togo on September 10 in Lome in their bid to pick a slot at the next Africa Cup of Nations. They drew 1-1 with the Cranes of Uganda.
