Prophet Elected As NDC Chair

THE HEAD pastor of Trinity Healing and Evangelical Church, Prophet Henry Kofi Sackitey has been elected as the Upper Manya Krobo constituency chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). The Prophet received massive endorsement to beat his closest contender, Nicholas Buawolor to retain his position.Congregants from his church trooped to Otrekper, the venue for the election to support their prophet. Other executives elected were Alhaji Moro Yakubu, vice chairman; Korley Francis Odonkor was elected as secretary with Mariama Sumaila being elected as treasurer. The incumbent youth organizer, Sre-Onyame Evans secured only three votes, hence, lost to Kpoti Adams who secured 57 votes. The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo constituency, Jeff Kevianu said the NDC is working hard to secure 80% votes for President John Dramani Mahama in his constituency to ensure one-touch victory for the party in 2016. He expressed optimism in the capabilities of the newly elected executives in helping to work hard for the NDC to win the next general election. Anthony Gyampo, the Eastern regional secretary of NDC called for unity and hard work from the newly elected executives to help the Eastern regional secretariat of the party to obtain the 50% votes targeted by the party. He charged the defeated candidates to join hands with the new executives to move the party forward. On behalf of the newly elected executives, Ahaji Moro Yakubu assured President Mahama of securing 80% votes in 2016, since, the president has made their work easier with the developmental projects being executed in the constituency. He, however, appealed to government to fulfill its promise of expanding the Bukunu water project to its surrounding communities since it is a major headache for the people.
