I Won NPP Super Delegates Congress On Merit-Nana Addo

Lead contender in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flag bearer race, Nana Akufo Addo has stated that he won the partys super delegates congress on merit. He therefore debunked widespread assertions by opposing forces within the party that the delegates were coerced to overwhelmingly endorse his candidature. According to Nana Akuffo- Addo, the delegates who gave him over 80 percent of the total votes cast judged him by his track record as incorruptible and decisive leader. He was addressing northern delegates in Tamale who gave him 88.5 percent in the region as part of his nationwide thank you tour. He implored all party supporters and sympathizers to remain resolute and ignore divisive tendencies which are likely to cause their defeat in 2016. He insists party leadership and members should discard internal petty squabbling and re-channel their energies into fighting the governing NDC. On a lighter note, Nana Addo Akufo disagreed with the NPPs former General, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie who after his shocking defeat advised political office seekers to fear delegates. He jovially remarked, You remember when Sir John lost the last elections as General Secretary: he came out to say that fear delegates but I have to disagree with him because in my case I trust delegates. Judging the J.A Kufuor administrations track record, the three times NPP Presidential hopeful maintained the party has the key to transform the nations fragile economy to close the yawning developmental disparities between southern and northern Ghana. Nana Akufo Addo reassured Ghanaians that his ambition is not to win power on the ticket of the NPP to amass wealth but to build a solid nation for all to enjoy.
