Political candidates require a well defined manifesto to win elections. So as Desmond Elliot continues to work on his political strategy, he has released his campaign banner and also explained the core principles that will guide his work if elected. Below are three core areas that he wants to focus on: WIDOWS AID PROGRAMME: �The widows in our society should be supported to enable them stand on their own. We will empower widows in the community through our project �Helping Hands� whereby we will have skills acquisition and development scheme for widows, and also a small scale business startup in partnership with microfinance banks and other lending bodies.� HEALTHCARE FOR THE ELDERLY, NURSING MOTHERS, AND CHILDREN: �Good health is basic to human existence. We will establish a door to door primary health care scheme for the elderly in the society. We will bring the healthcare to their doorsteps so that they don�t have to be bothered about reaching the centers. We will also establish a primary health care scheme for nursing mothers and children. We will provide seasonal immunization and access to medication to help combat seasonal ailments that are common in children.� These are but a few of some of the initiatives Desmond Elliot plans to embark on.
