Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, former Minister of Defense and brother of Ex-President Kufuor has chided Hon. Hilda Addo, the Ashanti Regional spokesperson of Alan Kyerematen, saying she is a liar with the mindset to create confusion in the former President Kufuor�s family as well as the NPP fraternity. According to him, the former NPP MP for Kwaadaso has no fear of God in her and appears hell-bent on engaging in politics of lies at the expense of family unity. His agitation on Okay Fm�s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show comes on the heels of allegations raised by Hon. Hilda Addo that he [Addo Kufuor] supported Akufo-Addo against his own brother, former President Kufuor during the party's 1998 congress. In a strident denial of her claims, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor said he was rather responsible for mobilizing funds for his brother�s 2000 campaign in the Ashanti Region and even stood by his brother (President Kufuor's) side when ex-president Rawlings was at his barking worse. ...if it was not love for my brother, I would not have left what I was doing to support him�. �That woman does not fear God and she must be mindful of her utterances��I don�t follow people for nothing; I was a self-made person before I entered into politics and so what will make me follow a particular candidate�.I followed my brother for 7 years when Rawlings was even hounding him daily; Hilda Addo would not have done that�. The only time I supported Akufo Addo was when he was a flagbearer; before 2008 election, I have never followed Akufo Addo to campaign for him. In 2000 elections I was mobilizing funds for President Kufuor�s campaign in the Ashanti Region and you can ask Dr. Donkor Fordjuor��.but I am saying today that Akufo Addo and Bawumia are the best option for the party and I have said this openly��if she is helping Alan, then she must preach the good things about him and not lie. She is bringing division in my family and she should be careful; if this is the kind of people Alan is working with, then he really does not have resourceful people in his team,� he stated. In a related development, Madam Hilda Addo has insisted in sharp riposte on the same platform that Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor supported Nana Akufo Addo in the 1998 primaries against his brother, then aspirant and later candidate John Agyekum Kufuor.
