I'm For Nana Addo - Joe Ghartey

Former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Hon. Joe Ghartey, says he does not need anyone to convince him about who to support in the upcoming presidential primary of the New Patriotic Party, stating emphatically that I know where I belong. Joining Nana Akufo-Addo to thank 61 delegates from the Western Region who voted in the August 31 Special Electoral College, Hon. Joe Ghartey explained that he received several calls from across the country asking him to throw his support behind one candidate or the other. However, knowing where he belonged, he told the gathering that he had already informed Nana Akufo-Addo that he would join him whenever he tours the Western Region ahead of the October 18 primary, and that was the reason why he had come with Akufo-Addo to meet delegates from the Western Region. Hon. Joe Ghartey, on Monday, September 15, 2014, told the delegates that he was clear in his mind about his support for Nana Akufo-Addo, and asked the delegates to be equally clear in their mind as to who they support. He appealed to the rank and file of the party to support whoever is elected to lead the NPP into the 2016 elections, adding that a united NPP is the pre-requisite for victory. At the same event, Hon. Osei Ameyaw, MP for Asuogyaman and a former presidential aspirant, indicated that the 80.81% endorsement of Nana Akufo-Addo by the super delegates was indicative of the fact that the NPP had already chosen Nana Akufo-Addo to lead the unity train to victory. This fact, he said, will be reinforced strongly by the 140,000 delegates of the party come October 18. Research Hon. Osei-Ameyaw said he had conducted at the polling station level after the Special Electoral College puts Nana Akufo-Addo in an unassailable lead, adding that that is why I have shelved my presidential ambition to join the unity train so Nana Akufo-Addo becomes President. On October 18, the Asuogyaman MP charged the delegates to deliver nothing short of an emphatic victory for Nana Akufo-Addo, which in his view will send a clear message to Ghanaians that the NPP is united behind Nana Akufo-Addo. To make this a reality, I have also come to give my 110% support to Akufo-Addo, he declared.
