Fire In NDC-Ade Coker Trades Blows With MP

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Joseph Ade Coker has announced he will today summon the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Theophilous Tetteh Chae before the partys disciplinary committee to clarify allegations of incompetence that the MP has leveled against the executives of the party The MP yesterday stated categorically that the incessant court injunctions that are being slapped on the partys constituency elections were due to the incompetence of the regional executives. He has also threatened to resign his post as Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central should he be summoned and penalized. According to him, the regional executives have arrogated powers to themselves just to intimidate people they see as a threat". We are suffering because the mediocre people we have put in office have brought the name of the NDC in Greater into disrepute, he stated. Tetteh Chae made the comment while reacting to the issue of the many court injunctions preventing the region from holding elections for various positions in the party. Though some constituencies in the region were able to hold their elections on Sunday, September 14, 2014, elections in Ningo, Tema Central, Ayawaso and other constituencies could not come off due to what Tetteh Chae referred to as incompetence on the part of the regional executives. Speaking on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme yesterday, the Ablekuma Central MP said he is appalled by the sort of executives we have elected into office. According to him, the region is in a leadership crisis because most of the elected executives are now either District or Metropolitan Chief Executives who are only serving their personal interests. Mr. Tetteh Chae indicated that the peeved aspirants who have taken the party to court were given a generic disqualification letter by the regional executives. Greater Accra NDC is in a mess; how can you give the same disqualification letter to all those affected. This is simple administrative work and they have failed, he stressed. The MP vowed to resist any oppressor's rule and ensure the NDC remains vibrant in Greater Accra. Greater Accra is the nerve centre of NDC and we will not allow these people to use their incompetence to destroy it, he declared.
