Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has described the personal attack on the former Defense Minister, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor by Hon. Hilda Addo as an act of desperation. According to Sir John as he is popularly called in politics, the former NPP MP for Kwaadaso's style of campaigning is indicative of the fact team Alan has no message to convince the delegates ahead of the October 18 Congress. He maintained that Hon. Hilda Josephine Addo has destroyed Alan Kyerematen�s campaign with lies and personal attacks which is further widening the cracks in the party and creating confusing even in the home of ex-president Kufuor. Hon. Hilda Addo in her campaign for Alan Kyerematen claimed the former Defence Minister rooted for Nana Addo against his own blood brother (then aspirant and later candidate John Agyekum Kufuor). She added that in spite of this, candidate Kufuor emerged winner, believing her candidate Alan Kyerematen is in a similar situation in the upcoming October 18 Congress. Touching on the deepening bickering in both Akufo Addo and Alan Kyerematen�s camp ahead of the October 18 Congress, Sir John called for cease fire, saying it was political unwise on the part of the former Kwadaso MP to attempt to cause enmity between the former President Kufuor and his brother. �Hilda Addo was not fair to Dr. Addo Kufuor and she does not listen to advise; her utterances are not good for Alan and everybody who listens to her knows she has destroyed Alan Kyerematen�s campaign but that�s for him to decide whether he will allow her to talk for him or not. Anytime she speaks, a lot of people are hurt and one is what she has said against Dr. Addo Kufuor. Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor is a fine politician who has no bad record in politics and he has served NPP very well��there is no truth in what Hilda Addo said about Dr. Addo Kufuor. We should learn the history of the party well and avoid twisting issues just to run down people�s credentials in the party; let�s serve the party and stop the insults and the hatred for one another in the party�.what is happening is that NDC government has gone for $1.7 billion to buy cocoa from our farmers in Cedis; We all know the exchange rate of cedi to dollar is 3.8 Cedis but Bank of Ghana says the rate is 3 Cedis.
