Horror! �Wee Smoker Beheads 63-Year-Old Woman

A THIRTY-FIVE-YEAR old wee smoker, Kwabena Efo has allegedly beheaded a sixty-three-year old woman, Cecilia Agba at Sukrong-Bethlehem in the Upper West Akyem district of the Eastern region. The suspect has been arrested by the Asamankese Police Command and the body of the deceased sent to the Asamankese government hospital morgue. The incident occurred yesterday around 8: am when the deceased was fetching firewood from her farm. Information gathered by the DAILY HERITAGE indicated that the deceased went to her farm to fetch firewood for cooking the morning of Wednesday and while in the farm fetching the firewood; the suspect who is a known wee smoker in the community ambushed the deceased and attacked her with machete after he had failed in his attempt to rape her. According to a local reporter with Nkunim FM at Asamankese, the suspect butchered the deceased before cutting off the head. The suspect then took away the head of the deceased and placed it on the trunk of a palm tree, a distance away from the crime scene. According to sources, the suspect, after committing the horrible crime, returned from the bush to the house with blood stains all over the body and reported that he and the deceased had been attacked by some unknown assailants, but he managed to escape. The news went viral in the community which generated suspicion that the suspect was involved in the act. Sensing danger, he attempted to run away but was arrested and handed over to the police where he admitted the offence. The suspect led the police to search for the deceased in the farm and they found her dead with the body butchered with the head cut off. He later led the police to retrieve the head from a palm tree which was far away from the crime scene. Daughter of the deceased, Augustina Appiah alleged that the suspect attempted to rape the deceased since the beads were torn when they got to the crime scene. She said the family is devastated with the sad news since the mother was a hardworking woman. The deceased left behind six children. Some residents in the community said the police must be blamed for the act since the suspect had been arrested several times but released on several occasions for attempted rape and physical attacks. Speaking to the Asamankese district police commander, Supt. Anane Appiah, he confirmed the story, adding that, further investigations are being done to help prosecute the suspect who admitted the offence during interrogation. He said the suspect will be arraigned today.
