Prez Mahamas Incompetence Alone Cannot Win Us Power- Minority Leader

Minority Leader in Parliament for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has asked the camps of Akufo Addo and Alan to eschew their differences as their utterances and actions are deepening the cracks in the party. According to the NPP MP for Suame Constituency, the opposition should not dwell on the abysmal and incompetent performance of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government alone to determine the chance of NPP in the 2016 general elections. He insisted it will take peace, unity and love for one another in NPP to make the dream of winning the 2016 elections a reality, pleading with the spokespersons of the Presidential aspirants to consider the effect of their utterances and actions in the partys quest for power in 2016. He however wondered why people are ignoring the traditions and conventions of the party as it has been the norm since 1998 to elect a flagbearer two years before elections after NPP has lost the 1996 elections. He hinted that since 1998 to 2010, NPPs National Delegates Congress has been held around the month of August after the party has elected its National Executives in 4 months, indicating that the 2014 Congress by analysis from the past has been extended to October. Considering the fact that issues are piling up every day, Hon. Osei Bonsu urged the Steering Committee and the National Executive together with the National Council to have their stipulated meetings to address them to foster the harmony needed in the party. If we dont use unity, love and peace, we cannot wrestle power from the NDC. I will continue to plead with our members to consider the consequences of their actions in the future over the party; some of our ways may seem right to us but it may lead to our destruction People with conscience in the party should ask whether their utterances and actions will bring power to the party in 2016. Those deepening the cracks in the party should stop because it will not help us or the party. NDC is not performing but if we dont unite, we cannot wrestle power from them; the incompetence of NDC government alone cannot win us the power unless we unite. We need to adopt the new slogan of NPP members in Volta Region as they now respond to the Kukurudu chant with Unity, he opined on OKAY FMs Morning Show. Despite the court case by some members of NPP to seek court injunction on the October 18 date for the partys National Delegates Congress, Hon. Osei Bonsu has assured measures are in place to calm nerves in the party.
