Dismiss The Education Minister - Group

The Coalition of Concerned Teachers, is demanding the immediate dismissal of the Education Minister, Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman. According to the coalition, Opoku-Agyemang has failed to resolve current challenges facing the education sector. The chairman of the group, Kinsley Ahemadu cited the withdrawal of teacher trainee allowances and the poor performance of Basic schools in the West Africa Examination Council to back their demands for the ministers removal. Our stand is that she has woefully failed Ahemadu told Starr News, adding since she became a minister, she has not implemented any policy that is teacher friendly. The group is also accusing the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) of failing to address the concerns of teachers. Its as if the union [GNAT] was formed to make teachers suffer and that is exactly what they are doing. If we should go into the nitty gritty of some of the things they are doing some of you will call for the disbandment of the union called GNAT. Ahemadu dispelled criticisms that the group is a political group formed to champion the course of some political parties.
