Chief Executive Calls For Consultation Instead Of Media War

Mr. Sampson Abbey Armah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu-Senya West, has appealed to people in the district to come to his office for clarifications on issues they are not conversant with. He said the growing trend of some people who have adopted the practice of channeling issues through the media was not the best. Mr. Armah said this in his address at the climax of Awubia Festival for the chiefs and people of the area at Awutu Beraku. He said to engage in media debate as a means to address their concerns �will be tantamount to washing our dirty clothes in the public� and that, will not arguer well for the district to achieve its developmental goals. Mr. Armah said the assembly had focused its attention on feeder roads and for that matter work was progressing on some feeder roads and these include the Bawjiase to Okwampa, Bawjiase to Amontrom, and Bawjiase to Ayensuako roads. The rest are Bewuanum to Monpong, Bontrase to Dasom, Olutum to Kwesi Papase, Ahentia to Loye, Ahentia to Papase, Adawukwa to Ofajato and Jei-Krodua to Kwao Bonney. He said access to potable water had increased in the district from 45% to 64% . The DCE disclosed that, the assembly has also constructed health compounds at Bewuanum, Adawukwo and Papase and these would be will be inaugurated soon and they have also constructed new education facilities Apetesie Nkwanta, Obodakawa, Opembo and Awutu Breaku as a means of creating an enabling environment for teaching and learning in those area. On sanitation, Mr Armah said the Assembly was working hard to overcome challenges in respect of where to dump refuse and added that the Assembly would soon advertise for public private/ partnership for the management of all public toilet operations. He expressed his appreciation to the Awutu Traditional Council for their immense contributions and support toward the street and property addressing project.
