Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has told the World cup commission investigating the 2014 World cup fiasco that AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari is beside himself with worry as a result of the Brazil incident that resulted in his expulsion from camp. Appiah described the incident as unfortunate, and wished it didn�t happen, but said such things do happen once in a while in football. He told the commission the Milan ace had since shown remorse and there was every indication that he wanted to return to the team. To Appiah, the player�s response after being handed the dismissal letter alone testified that he left the team�s camp an unhappy person. The former Parma/Juventus midfielder told the commission that Sulley had said to him, �Capito can you believe I have been told to leave camp?� Appiah hinted that the emotionally stricken midfielder�s reaction after receiving the letter did not permit him to ask the player further questions. �Sulley is very sad, such mistakes do happen at times, he wants to come back, he wants to play for Ghana again. I do talk to him once in a while after the World Cup, and I can say he is sorry. �I saw the team Manager with the dismissal letters, later I saw Dede 50metres away from where I was, so I approached him and some senior players so we could intervene, but it was late ,� said Appiah. Sulley was involved in a physical confrontation with management member Moses Armah Parker during the World Cup, which resulted in his expulsion from the team before Ghana�s last group game.
