DCE Weeps On Court

The Cape Coast Vacation Court on Thursday September 25 drastically humbled the District Chief Executive for Twifo Attimorkwa in the Central region for threatening to beat the bailiff who served him with a motion of contempt and also allegedly insulting Ghanaian judges of collecting bribes. According to the bailiff, Mr Edward Attiodu, when he reached the assembly premises of the DCE, Hon Boss Osei Sheiaman, he gathered his men to pour and heap insults on him for daring to appear before them. The DCE also allegedly refused to take the summons letter addressed him. Following this, the counsel of the DCE, Lawyer Adu Yaboah advised him to appear before the court to render an unqualified apology to the bailiff and the entire judges which he did in affidavit. According to the presiding judge, her Lordship Nana Adjoa Coleman, the recorded version of the attack on the bailiff and affidavit sworn to by the DCE portrayed two different scenarios all together and therefore asked the DCE to be fair to the court and to come out with the names of judges he know to be corrupt in the system. The case has been adjourned to 29th September 2014.
