GFA Boss: Why I Swore By The Holy Quran Is Personal And None Of Anyones Business

With an absence of a Muslim name and an Islamic way of life in the public domain, many believe the incumbent Ghana Football Association [GFA] President, Kwesi Nyantakyi is a Christian by faith. But his choice to swear with the Islamic holy book Quran before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating Ghanas shambolic World Cup performance in Brazil raised some hubbubs, especially as he is a known congregant at the Trinity Baptist Church at East Legon. Asked by the chair of the commission, Justice Dzamefe what book he would want to swear by, the GFA boss confidently opted for the Holy Quran after which he shockingly confirmed that he is a Muslim. When did he convert to the Muslim faith or it was just to Showoff or an attempt to loophole the truth? Many wondered but Mr. Nyantakyi has all the answers. In an exclusive interview with Peacefmonline.com, now Sheikh Kwesi Nyantakyi questioned why people doubt his spiritual background and his choice to swore by the Holy Quran. Why cant they accept and understand my reason for using the Quran? Did they gave birth to me? he quizzed. I had a call from Kumasi and the person was insisting that I was dodging from the truth that was why I chose the Quran. This is incredible. I just want to ignore such allegations, he asserted. The Wa All Stars boss further opined that My tribe and religion are personal to me. I dont discuss religion and tribe but confirmed that I go to church.
