Reopening Date For First Year SHS Students Postponed

The Ghana Education Service (GES) on Friday announced the postponement of the reopening date for all new entrants into senior high schools to Monday, October 20, due to technical challenges. A statement signed by Mr Charles Aheto-Tsegah, Acting GES Director-General, advised all heads of second cycle schools to ensure that they made the necessary preparations to welcome all first year SHS students. It also advised parents and guardians of first year students to note the new date and take appropriate action. The statement said all heads of second cycle schools would receive the placement list for their respective schools from Thursday, October 9; students and parents could access the placement forms on Friday, October 10, which should be printed and sent to the schools for admission processes to commence. "The GES apologises for any inconvenience that the changes in dates would cause. This is in the best interest of our students, it said.
