Are We Expecting Mahama To Move From Flagstaff House To Retrieve Debts From Woyome? No Way

New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Yamoah Ponkoh has slammed the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and others agitating that President John Dramani Mahama must be blamed for the corrupt practices taking place in the various state institutions. According to him, with the practice of democracy, it will be unfair for the opposition parties to accuse President Mahama of inaction since he (Mahama) cannot use his executive powers to manipulate the Attorney General (A-Gs) department to retrieve all debts ruled in favor of the state by the Supreme Court. Speaking on Okay Fms Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Mr. Yamoah Ponkor said the President will not be following the rule of law which he has sworn to protect if he interferes in the work of the A-G with regards to collecting debts due the state. He stressed that state institutions must be allowed to work to ensure full compliance with the tenets of democracy; adding President Mahama has shown leadership and faith in the institution responsible for retrieving debts from Alfred Woyome and other companies as ruled by the Supreme Court. What do we want President Mahama to do? Are we asking him to move from his seat at the presidency to retrieve debts from Woyome for us? We have a history in this country where in the era of NPP people created, looted and shared state properties among themselves but nothing happened..it is possible government appointed the NSS boss but the President didnt instruct him to engage in corruption. We need a holistic approach towards corruption and we should stop our consistent blame of every corruption on the President, it is unfair to expect the President to impose his executive powers on state institutions which are required to work independently, he opined.
