The President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union [GRFU] Herbert Mensah has revealed that an amount of GHC 100,000 promised by the Ministry of Finance to revamp rugby football in Ghana is yet to be received by his administration. He told the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Ghana�s shambolic Brazil 2014 World Cup preparations on Thursday that, he is yet to set his own commission of inquiry into where the funds are. The Justice Dzamefe Commission aside football is giving opportunity to all heads of sporting disciplines in the country to air their problems as well as find solutions to the challenges they face in their respective associations. The former Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC who was elected as the president of Ghana Rugby Football Union in June told the commission that, monies belonging to the union have not been received. �Every association mentioned [At the commission] have the fact that monies have been coming to the sports but no money has been received. We took over in June and I understood that GHC14, 000 have been raised for over four years for the game of rugby. The GHC100,000 promise ably here have never been paid,� he said. Adding that, ��and actually if I have not been called, I am in the process of instituting my own commission of inquiry as to where the money was. We did that in football�in football that is why we had the Justice Gbadegbe probe which made a big difference in the game. "...In football we found out that we had shit the system...embarrass the people in public office to bring about change and we are in the process to do that�. The sports mogul who took over the reigns of Ghana Rugby from the founder and first President of the association, Mrs. Gifty E. Annan-Myers threatened to sue whoever is responsible for answers to whereabouts of the money. �If it is [the money] sitting with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and it has been promised by the Ministry of Finance�then I would like to ask serious persons like yourself my Lord [referring to Justice Dzamefe] whether I cannot take the ministry to court,� he opined.
