Gov't Launches Programme To Promote Technical And Vocational Skills

Government has reiterated its commitment to promoting technical and vocational skills among the youth with a plan to offer scholarships to students excelling in technical and vocational studies at the secondary and tertiary levels. This is in line with efforts to whip up interest of students in technical and vocational subjects to help them create employment for themselves after school. These were statements made by the Deputy Minister of Education in Charge of Tertiary Education, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa at the launch of the Role Model Programme under the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, COTVET, in Accra. Mr Okudzeto-Ablakwa said the Role Model programme is part of the Development of Skills for Industry Project, DSIP, initiated by government to create and promote employable skills and financial support for the youth.
