3-Year-Old Boy Dies Mysteriously In School

The death of a 3-year-old boy in school is causing fear and panic among residents of Old Fadama in Accra. Kojo Gmakwadon, a nursery one pupil of Showers of Blessing nursery school, was reportedly found dead by his classmates around 2pm on Tuesday. Mother of the deceased, Cynthia Gmakwadon told Citifmonline.com that she had no idea what caused her sons death. She told citifmonine.com that I bathed him in the morning and gave him food to eat. I then sent him to school. When I went to take the child later from school, I was asked by the proprietress to follow her to the hospital. According to Cynthia, she got apprehensive when her son Kojo, did not return after 3pm. Cynthia Gmakwandon further disclosed that, she immediately closed her shop and rushed to her sons school only for her to be told by the headmistress that young Kojo had been sent to the Princess Marie Louise Childrens hospital mogue in Accra. According to her, At the hospital, I was not permitted to see the body of my dead son. I was given a note to go to the police station. The child was injured at the school, but the school authorities said they never caused any harm to him. The intervention of the Member of Parliament for Wulensi, George Wamba however compelled the officials of the hospital to allow her to see the body of her dead son. On seeing the remains, Cynthia observed some deep scars on the hands with blood oozing from the nose of the dead child. She said After the observation I sensed foul play and lodged a report at the Old fadama police station. The child was injured at the school but the school authorities are saying he was not injured. But my checks revealed that there were cuts on the mouth. The head mistress is the one I entrusted the care of my child into so if the child is dead she must be held responsible she fumed. Checks by Citifmonline at the school indicate that the facility is not registered with the Ghana Education Service and lacks several basic amenities such as toilets, desks and the necessary teaching and learning materials. A teacher at the school Faustina Nkladon dismissed the suggestions that they had a hand in the the death of the 3 year old boy. I was standing here the child looked pale and weak. I could not call the mother; I had to rush him to the hospital first. When I rushed the boy, the doctor asked me to come and call the mother. So I came to call the mother and sister. I dont know why they want to formulate lies about me, the frustrated teacher said.
