New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Alan Kyeremanteng�s campaign in the Techiman South Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region, nearly turned chaotic when a delegate disrupted his campaign speech and said they [the delegates] have made up their minds to vote for his opponent Nana Akufo-Addo. The delegate, David Boakye who is also the party�s constituency secretary, after interrupting Alan�s speech also openly declared his support for Nana Addo. Citi News� Brong Ahafo regional correspondent, Kwadwo Brefo reported that Mr. Kyerematen was outlining his plans and vision for the party when David Boakye budged in said they, [the delegates] were sure Nana Addo would win the party�s elections and urged Mr. Kyerematen to rather �support Nana Addo with all the logistics and resources he is promising the delegates.� Alan Kyerematen�s spokesperson, Nana Ohene Ntow reacted angrily and grabbed the microphone from Mr. Boakye prompting heated exchanges between the two. Kwadwo Brefo also said it took the NPP National chairman, Paul Afoko and other executives to calm the two down. Alan Kerematen, who launched his campaign in September has already toured various parts of the country, including, the Volta, the Upper West and the Northern Regions, and has previously stated that he is unperturbed by the reports of delegates declaring their support for Nana Addo. There have been calls for the remaining candidates to drop out of the race in order to allow Nana Addo to run alone after he polled 81 percent of votes in the party�s Super Delegates Congress in August. Alan Kyeremanten, has been criticised recently, by opponents and political watchers for his promises to delegates in the Volta Region to provide them with bicycles and other goodies if they elect him as the party�s candidate, who regard this as an attempt to �buy votes.�
