PHOTOS: Broken ECG Pole Hangs Dangerously Over Residents of Akweteyman

Residents of Akweteyman, in Accra, have threaten to vent their spleen on the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) if their call to fix a broken pole, hanging dangerously above the rooftop of a house is not heeded to avert any catastrophe. According to Mr. Peprah, a concerned resident, we realized the electricity pole was broken since Friday and incessant calls and appeals for a replacement or for the power to be turned off have fallen on deaf ears. I spent the whole day trying to collaborate with the Assemblyman, Hon. Majid, to help find a solution to the problem yesterday, after all my efforts to get the St. John Sub-station of the ECG to rectify the problem on Saturday went up in smoke. ...all they told me was that there are no poles at the St. Johns Sub-station to replace the broken one and all we could do was to wait until today (Monday) to get it fixed but what I even wanted was for the power to be turned off, in order to prevent any accident but nothing has been done till date, he told Peacefmonline.com
