Kwadwo Brefo, Citi FM�s correspondent in the Brong Ahafo Region has distanced himself from a write up on the stations portal which sort to suggest that a fracas ensured during Alan Kyerematen�s meeting with delegates in Techiman. The reportage on Citifmonline.com also stated emphatically that it took the intervention of the National Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko, who was seated on the high table of the event to physically separate the feuding factions. However, the station�s Correspondent in the Region has revealed that though he was not physically present at the event, he had representatives at the event that relayed the information to him. He also insists the statement attributed to him, on Citifmonline.com with regards to the reported incident was not part of the reportage he made on the station�s prime time news but a fabrication and distortion of facts by the online team. Addressing the issue on NEAT 100.9 FM , Mr. Brefo stated: ��I never mentioned anything to that effect. I never said there was a fight, which led to the confusion at the event. I did not also say that Mr. Afoko was there, neither did I say he jumped in to stop any fight�. He also made it clear that he had made an official complain upon seeing the write-up on the website and further distanced himself from it. Meanwhile, the Techiman South Constituency chairman of the NPP, David Boakye expressed disgust at the reportage and went on to state that such behaviors by journalists have contributed to the confusion that has bedeviled the party over years. ��it is regrettable that journalist who were not even at the event would want to create the impression there was a fight. I am a fan of Alan but we all went to listen to what he had for us because we in Techiman have decided to give everyone a fair hearing but certain journalists always want to create confusion in our party by reporting blatant lies,� he fumed.
