Akufo-Addo Is A Monumental Failure Alan Camp

Alan Kyerematen's camp has launched its most scathing attack yet against his closest rival Nana Akufo-Addo, describing him as a monumental failure and a man who lacks personality. With just three days to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary, Chief Obosu Mohammed, Press Secretary to Alan Kyerematen, in a strongly worded statement said despite the massive support enjoyed by Nana Akufo-Addo he still managed to send and keep the party in opposition. The fact is, Mr. Alan Kyerematen has never been given the opportunity to lead our great party. It is, therefore, out of place for people to equate the monumental failure of Nana Akufo-Addo to retain the party in power in 2008 and also its excruciating defeat in 2012, to the inability of Mr. Alan Kyerematen to lead the party on two occasions, though, on his first attempt in 2007, he for the sake of party unity graciously decided to step down for Nana Akufo-Addo, as a result of the sharp division and tension that had characterized the party then. The two circumstances are parallel, if logic is to reign. Chief Obosu Mohammed claimed Nana Akufo-Addo lost the presidential elections to John Atta Mills and John Mahama in 2008 and 2012 respectively, because of personality trait. It is the NPP that we need as Government but not an individual, so lets think outside the box and present a candidate with a national appeal who can deliver us from another opposition, he cautioned the party. In an interview on Joy FMs Top Story Tuesday, Mr. Kyerematens press secretary explained that although Akufo-Addo is popular within the NPP, popularity alone does not win an election. He made a strong case for his boss, Alan Kyerematen, claiming he has the national appeal and is known and loved all over the country, even by non NPP members. Alan Kyerematen has himself conceded to defeat in the hands of Akufo-Addo in two presidential primaries. Though he would not be forthright whether his boss sanctioned his strongly worded statement, Chief Mohammed insisted on what he claimed to be clear evidence and statistics to prove Akufo-Addos monumental failure. "Alan Kyerematens exceptional personality is what the NPP needs to win the 2016 elections", he stressed. In a sharp rebuttal, Mustapha Hamid, an aide to Nana Akufo-Addo, told Top Story the argument by the Alan camp was flawed after he (Alan) had lost twice to his boss. Saying the fact that Nana Akufo-Addo has lost two presidential elections, is a guarantee that he will never win the 2016 election, was moot and insult to NPP members, he stated. The camp of Mr Alan Kyerematen has been behaving as though the NPP public is from Mars or some other planet. The NPP public are made up of market women, students, teachers, shoe shine boys, etcthey live in our community inside Ghana; they don't come from elsewhere. So to suggest somehow or rather that the people who endorsed Nana Akufo-Addo are completely out of touch with what is going on in this country is a huge insult to this over 140,000 people.
