AUDIO: I Dont Answer Unintelligent Questions - Asiedu Nketia

Anybody could have walked into my office and ask me questions and I will answer but you dont come to me to ask those questions and you fabricate the story that makes me quite angry A few months ago, General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia, took a swipe at his critics who wanted him to explain how his party funded their new office, located at Adabraka. The four-storey building has been at the centre of controversy since news broke that the party spent about US$20 million to construct it. As the General Secretary of the NDC, people were waiting for him to respond to the issue. But at an NDC youth forum in Accra, he said: I dont know how to answer unintelligent questions without making the questioner feel insulted - that is why I have decided in their own interest not to answer those questions. On Thursday, October 16, Asiedu Nketia explained to Kwami Sefa Kayi why he made those comment. According to him, his office is opened for everybody and everyone who wants to ask him questions or make enquiries concerning the party and so it is highly offensive to me when they dont ask me but go on air and say all sorts of things. When asked if he wasnt insulting his critics, he said the comment he made was not offensive. My problem is that I dont know how to answer unintelligent questions without creating the impression that I have insulted the questioner. I dont answer unintelligent questions he reiterated. Meanwhile, the building is completed but Asiedu Nketia has still not answered to the amount of money the party used in constructing that building. According to him, it is more expensive to rent an apartment than build a new office. Most of the partys press conferences are held in hotels and rented spaces, which are very expensive but with our new office all these expenses will stop.
