Atik: I Foresee Someone Other Than Alan Succeeding Nana Addo

Policy analyst of the People's National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed is predicting that the Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 general elections, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, is likely to leap frog Alan Kyerematen as Nana Akufo-Addo's successor in the invisible pecking order of the New Patriotic Party. He told Captain Smart on Adom TV Saturday that Dr. Bawumia has what it takes to lead the NPP. I am seeing another candidate who will succeed Nana Addo and I think Dr. Bawumia can do the job but for Alan Kyerematen, I think it will be difficult for him to get another slot for flagbearship looking at the provisional results coming in, he stated. He maintained that Dr Bawumia had already shown leadership, pointing out that the former Deputy Bank of Ghana boss was the star of NPPs presidential petition at the Supreme Court. Dr. Bawumia, even in trying times of the NPP was able to represent himself throughout the court case and so why cant he succeed Nana Addo to bring changes into the party, he quizzed. About 140,000 delegates in 275 constituencies have cast their ballot to select one of three aspirants to lead the party to the 2016 Presidential election.
