Kumasi Goes Agog

There was much jubilation, and for that matter, the entire Ashanti Region, last Saturday evening after the final results of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary had been announced. The spontaneous merrymaking, which was all over the city, was sparked by Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo�s victory. NPP delegates across the country, overwhelmingly elected Nana Akufo-Addo as the party�s flagbearer for the 2016 general elections. Known NPP delegates in the area were seen singing and dancing to display their joy over Nana Akufo-Addo�s victory. The celebrations were remarkable at the party�s newly acquired regional office at Krofrom in the Manhyia South Constituency. With one accord, the overjoyed party supporters and the delegates were seen singing praises to God for granting Nana Akufo-Addo victory. The jubilation was not restricted to the party�s office, as the entire city went agog with what some of the marry makers described as good news. Drivers of private and commercial vehicles were seen driving at top speed and tooting their horns to show their delight. Drinking spots in the city recorded colossal sales in the evening as people jammed there to celebrate. The jubilation went deep into the night as the excited people consumed bottles of drinks. Night clubs made brisk business Saturday night.
