Siamese Twins Dead

The Siamese twins delivered through a caesarean procedure by a twenty-five-year old lady, Mary Botwe, native of Asuom in the Eastern region have died on their way to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. According to the Kade Government Hospital Authorities where the twins were delivered, the condition of the twins was very critical, hence, the need for emergency care at a well-equipped facility such as the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Prior to their unfortunate deaths in the ambulance that was transporting them to the Hospital, the family indicated it could not afford the cost and appealed for support. The twins were on oxygen since breathing was difficult. The legged conjoined twins were delivered on Tuesday at the Kade Government Hospital in the Kwaebibirem district of the Eastern region. Information gathered indicated that the twins had two heads, four arms, three legs, a closed anus and one male sex organ. The mid-wife nurse, Madam Kate at the female ward of the Kade Government Hospital in an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE was hopeful of the success of the surgery had they reached the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. She noted that, the medical officer in charge who was ordered to transfer the twins to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital was equally hopeful the twins would have survived the surgery. According to her, the twins had colostomy done after their delivery to enable them pass stool, adding that, �but they were still very fragile.� The paper has gathered that the incident has shocked the family members of the mother who are yet to come to terms with the sad news. At the time of filing this report, the paper learnt that the mother of the twins had not been told about her babies� whereabouts yet, though she knew she had delivered and still on admission receiving medical attention.
