Kotoko Threaten To Pull Out of 2014/15 FCPL Due To Unpaid Prize Money

Champions Asante Kotoko have threatened to boycott the 2014/15 Ghana Premier League season if their prize money of GHC65, 000.00 is not paid. The Porcupine Warriors on Wednesday revealed they are yet to receive the said amount from title sponsors First Capital plus bank for winning last season�s campaign. Although the sponsors [First Capital plus bank] has already given indication of disbursing the money to Kotoko, they [Kotoko] have stated they will be forced to pull out of next season domestic top-flight if they don�t receive their prize money for emerging as last season champions. �We have spoken to officials of First Capital Plus and they have assured us that we will receive our money in two weeks time,� spokesperson for the club Ali Maradona affirmed to Metro FM. �So we wait for two weeks to see what happens. After the two week period, we will see what to do. �But then I can already tell you that if they fail to pay us what is due us in the two week period, I can assure you that Kotoko will not play the league when all the outstanding issues are sorted.� Kotoko displayed their superiority by winning the League for the third successive time, having won the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.
