GCPP Leader Hails Akufo-Addo

GREAT CONSOLIDATED Popular Partys (GCPP) leader, Dr. Henry Herbert Lartey has praised flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo describing him as a man with great ideas for the country. Dr. Lartey said Akufo-Addo has served his party and the country in diverse ways from his youthful days to date and thus has no doubt about his competence if he becomes president of the country. Speaking in a telephone interview with the Daily Heritage on Akufo-Addos overwhelming endorsement, the former GCPP flagbearer said he paid his dues to the party and they gave him the mandate to lead again. Akufo-Addo was elected at the partys recent national delegates congress with 94.35% of the total votes cast to beat Alan Kyerematen and Francis Addai Nimoh who polled 4.75% and 0.91% respectively. The NPP leader has picked his two-time running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to partner him for the third time as they plan to crash the ruling National Democratic Congress. Many radio commentators have also tried to question Akufo-Addos health status because of his age if he wins the next election, but Dr. Lartey said age has no boundary to ideas for the development of the nation. According to him, if Akufo-Addo, at his old age has good ideas to transform the country, there was no reason not to give him the chance to lead the country. The GCPP leader further noted that the chances of Akufo-Addo becoming a president largely depend on the Ghanaian electorate in the 2016 general election and advised that although the party wants their leader to win at all costs, they ought to be cautious.
