Ghana Blind Union Gets Support

The Ghana Blind Union (GBU) has received a cheque for GH�3,000 and a Yamaha generator from Japan Motors Trading Company and e.tv in fulfilment of a promise made by the two corporate organisations. The two bodies raised the funds at their annual corporate run which was held last month with patronage from corporate institutions and individuals across the country, and donated the proceeds in fulfilment of their pledge. Leading the delegation from the two companies to hand over the items, Mrs Hilda Peasah, Marketing Manager of Japan Motors, said she hoped the annual event organised by the two companies would be sustained to enable them to offer relentless support to the visually impaired. �We are building on this support by ensuring the donation increases from year to year and it�s our prayer that corporate Ghana sees such effort and follow suit by sponsoring other good programmes that will go a long way to impact positively on the lives of the less privileged in our society,� she said Present among the delegation included Ms Eunice Adjei, Events Manager for Global Media Alliance, the mother company for e.tv Ghana, and Ms Dimitra Belia, a marketing intern at Japan Motors Receiving the items on behalf of the GBU, Mr Peter K. Obeng-Asamoa, Executive Director of GBU, expressed his gratitude to the two organisations for their support. �As blind people we do engage in sports so we appreciate what Japan Motors and etv Ghana have introduced. We participated and have benefited as well.� Mr Obeng-Asamoa called on other corporate institutions to come forth with support to safeguard the future wellbeing of the physically challenged in the country
