Two NDC Regional Chairmanship Aspirants Pick Forms

Two aspirants for the Greater-Accra Regional Chairmanship slot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Tuesday picked their forms at the Regional Office, to contest for the position during the partys Regional Delegates Congress, later this year. The two, Mr Jonathan Tackie-Komme, former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, and Mr Daniel Amartey-Mensah, immediate Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku-Krowor, are among five contestants who have declared their intentions to vie for the position during the Congress. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the partys Regional Office in Accra, Mr Tackie-Komme said, the Region needs a committed and loyal leader, as well as a unifier, who can unite the rank and file of the party, so that with a united front, members can go into the 2016 elections with greater confidence. He recounted that the region has always been the decider of elections in the country, and for that matter, he would strive to bring on board what he described as the orphan constituencies, so that the party could win majority of the seats in the region in 2016. Mr Tackie-Komme, therefore, appealed to the delegates to elect him as the Regional Chairman. For his part, Mr Amartey-Mensah said, the party in the region needs a grass root person to lead members to ensure victory in 2016. He said, having served the NDC for the past 22 years, starting as an assemblyman, he is the right choice for the position. Mr Amartey-Mensah, therefore, urged the delegates to give him their mandate to serve the party, in order to ensure victory in the 2016 elections.
