The District Chief Executive of Nkwanta South in the Volta region, Peter Kojo Penyeso, has been shot dead.
Kojo Penyeso was shot by some unknown assailants in his car at about 6:00pm Monday (3rd November, 2014) evening).
It is not clear what triggered the attack, but the police have been at the scene to gather evidence.
Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on PEACE FM morning show 'Kokrokoo', Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Gershon Gbediame, expressed shock at the news because "I was with him the whole day..." until around five when he left for his house.
He further noted that �there is tension in the town as a result of this attack and so I have called for military enforcement to prevent any reprisal attack.�
Meanwhile, the police have started investigations to find the killers.
