Tigo Digital Change Maker Launched With $20,000 Winner Prize

For the youth who are zealous about innovative digital solution, the dream to be your own boss has come to reality. Telecommunication giant, Tigo Ghana in collaboration with a non-profit organization, Reach for Change has launched a new social entrepreneurship program dubbed �Tigo Digital Change Maker�. The program is meant to identify and empower young Ghanaians with innovative digital solutions to headlong and help solve some of our needs. Digital Change Maker is a Tigo initiative to promote digital life style in the Ghanaian society as well as creating jobs for the youth with a whooping capital. This is the third year that both Tigo and Reach for Change are jointly supporting Ghanaian social entrepreneurs. Previously, 13 social business persons have received a total amount of GHC500,000 from the program for their projects across the country. Addressing some innovative students at the launch in Accra, the Chief Executive Office of Tigo Ghana, Roshi Motman revealed that, the two top winners of the program will each receive a funding grant of $20, 000 [GHC 60,000] and the needed existing guidance and support to bring their ideas to reality. �Starting from November 3 to December 1, we are encouraging all social entrepreneurs to step forward with the best digital technology ideas that can create a bigger impact to the lives of children and Ghanaians,� she said. Adding that, �We are looking forward for the best innovative digital ideas that can impact and provide genuine solutions to problems facing children and society and at the same time promoting connectivity and access to communications�particularly in deprived communities� How to participate Ideas presented to the competition must demonstrate the potential in utilizing mobile broadband, digital and/ or information technology to improve the quality of the proposed project.
