The Auditor-General on Wednesday submitted a report on Public Accounts of Ghana (consolidated fund) for the year ended 31 December 2013 to Parliament in fulfillment of its constitutional mandate.
The report also comprises the accounts of District Assemblies Common Fund, the Account of District Assemblies and the Statement of Foreign Exchange receipts and payment of the Bank of Ghana for the half year ended December 31 2013, all for the year 2013.
A statement signed by Reverend Joseph K. Ghunney, Director, Public Relations for the Auditor-General and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the report also includes Performance Audit Report on Extension of Electricity to 1,200 communities in Ghana.
Other activities captured include the preparedness of Ghana National Fire Service to respond to fire emergencies and Street Lighting Programme in Five Regional capitals in Ghana.
Additionally, the verification study of 2010 - 2012 Multi Donor Budgetary Support Inflows and Unified Petroleum Price Fund was presented.
The reports were submitted in pursuance of Article 187(2) of the 1992 Constitution of the republic of Ghana which states: �The public accounts of Ghana and of all public offices, including the courts, the central and local government administrations, of the Universities and public institutions of like nature, of any public corporation or other body or organisation established by an Act of Parliament shall be audited and reported on by the Auditor-General.�
