Bernard Anim Piesie, member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications team, has warned critics to stop blaming President John Mahama for the seemingly "poor" refurbishment works at the Parliament House. Reacting to reports that some chairs at the legislative House have already become faulty and breaking, Anim Piesie asserted that the President is focused on nation building and therefore putting in place pragmatic steps to revamp the economy. According to him, he (President Mahama) should be spared from criticisms regarding the quality of chairs at Parliament to give the House a new look. Making his submissions on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", he believed the criticisms should be put at the doorstep of the House. Though he wouldn't underrate the expertise of local manufacturers in the country, he however was of a view Parliamentary Service Board, in charge of refurbishing the House, should be given the benefit of doubt. Anim Piesie opined that the Board might have employed the services of Chinese to refurbish the House due to inaccessibility and unavailability of the local manufacturing companies. This notwithstanding, he called on the Parliamentary Service Board, in charge of refurbishing the House, to explain to the nation the criteria and basis for acquiring the chairs from China.
