Accountant General To Delete More Names From Govt Payroll

The Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) says it will soon delete names of all civil servants without bank account numbers from the government payroll system. Government has been struggling to rid the payroll system of ghost names. For this reason the CADG froze the September and October salaries of some civil servants who do not have bank account numbers. The move according to the CAGD was to clean the payroll data while urging affected persons to furnish the department with the necessary details by November 7, 2014 to have their data corrected and their monies refunded. Meanwhile, some civil servants are yet to adhere to the directive. However in a press release copied to citifmonline.com the CAGD has extended the deadline to November 14, 2014 and December 15, 2014 for those whose salaries were withheld in September and October respectively. Employees are to note that failure to submit the required information on the due dates would result in deletion of their names from the payroll, the release stated.
