114 Vehicles �Arrested� In Western Region

The Western Regional Police Command on Friday arrested over 114 vehicles for different traffic offenses. DCOP Francis Quainoo, Regional Commander told newsman that the exercise was not to witch hunt drivers but to promote road safety as we approached the yuletide. Most of the vehicles were impounded mainly for the lack of driving licence, broken mirrors, worn-out tyres and broken wind screen among others. The Regional Police Commander said the drivers had been asked to fix or get the necessary papers covering their vehicles else they would be processed for court. In all, 32 mini buses, 18 taxis and 18 private cars were still parked at the Police Rapid Response Office whiles 46 who had complied with the orders of the Command had been released.
