Don't Sell Your Votes Manly-Spain Tells NDC Delegates

The lead Contender for the chairmanship post in the Greater Accra regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) election, Henry Ekow Manly-Spain has cautioned delegates ahead of Saturdays Congress not to sell their votes, but rather vote for candidates who are dedicated and human-centered. According to him, it would be disastrous for the party ahead of the 2016 elections because selling of the votes means you have enslaved yourself and that of the constituency members for the next four years. My fellow comrades, if you sell your votes then it means you have put yourself and the constituency members to slavery for the next four years,Manly-Spain cautioned. To this end, he has urged party delegates to choose a leader with a proven track record for creating wealth, jobs and has the skills to manage and execute affairs with precision. Mr. Manly-Spain made the above statement in an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE after interacting with delegates from various constituencies in the Greater Accra region. Again, he said they should look out for a leader who is humble, selfless, caring and human-centered in the upcoming regional delegates congress. God willing, if given the nod to lead the NDC as a chairman for the Greater Accra region, I will be able to use my vast experience and skills to achieve the transformational agenda required to move the region forward in order to win 2016 elections in Accra convincingly, Mr Manly-Spain stated. Mr. Manly-Spain noted that Greater Accra region needs a chairman who can do the job, in order to bring real transformation, prosperity and votes to the party. Tell me to walk from office after two years if I am unable to deliver what I am telling you and I will walk, Manly-Spain challenged the delegates. To this end, he dared all his competitors to sign such an agreement with the delegates if truly they are in to seek the welfare of the party. The chairman aspirant noted that: The Greater Accra NDC party is currently facing difficult challenges, as a result of bad leadership and the lack of technical knowledge and managerial skills. Everywhere I have been to, across the region, I could feel the suffering of our people. Our people feel neglected, and we cannot as a party, continue on that path, things must be different before the 2016 elections, Mr. Manly-Spain pointed out.
