Lives In Danger At Sakumono Ramsar Site

Reliable Information reaching the DAILY HERITAGE indicates that land guards are threatening the lives of workers at the Ramsar site at Sakumono in Tema and residents around the area. Construction workers have abandoned their work at the Ramsar site for some days due to the fear of their dear lives. The paper visiting the area observed that workers were sitting at a place of refuge fearing to get back to work. According them, land guards for some time now are not giving them the needed peace of mind to work on schedule at the site. Some of the workers in an interview disclosed that land guards unexpectedly strike on them, and start firing gunshots when they are working to scare them. He said the land guards asked them to stop work, line up and lie down, where their money and phones were being retrieved. One of them, who mentioned his name as Prince Bay, a steel bender became a victim of the gun shots. Some of us who were on top of the building, were rushing down to join our friends, before I realize, one of the gun shot hit my head. They hinted that the land guards operate with motor bikes, taxi caps and pickups and hide inside the bush. They are, therefore, calling on the police from the Sakumono district command to come to their aid, since materials bought for construction works are going bad. They appealed to developers who employed them to caution them to guard only their portion of land and stop invading others.
