Equatorial Guinea To Host AFCON 2015

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has settled on Equatorial Guinea as new host of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. CAF selected Equatorial Guinea, co-host of the 2012 competition as replacement for Morocco, after the latter pulled out citing concerns with the outbreak of the Ebola virus. The competition that spans January 17-February 8, was heading Morocco, now banned by CAF for pulling out. According to CAF, Malabo, Bata, Mongomo and Ebebiyin are the four stadia for the continent�s plum gathering for the best 16 teams. Equatorial Guinea qualifies automatically as new host despite getting expelled from the qualifiers in July for fielding an ineligible player against Mauritania, on May 17. The draw for the competition is scheduled to take place in Malabo, on Wednesday 3 December.
